SESSION THEME | Vision of Planning
Planning is …
Join a chorus to (re)find your passion for planning
Wednesday 1 April, 8:30am - 9:00am
"Planning is a profession that builds communities, protects the environment, enhances economic value and improves the choices for where and how people live, work and spend their leisure time."
Sounds great, right? Yet many of us feel like we spend our days simply pushing paper.
Our peers are losing their energy and passion for planning - how can we get our groove back?
We are struggling to attract people into the planning profession - how can we inspire a new generation of planners?
What do we need to do to reach a destination where planning is valued and where planners feel like their everyday work is delivering outcomes that are achieving a better New Zealand?
This panel will present a range of voices including:
An emerging planner
An experienced planner
An international voice
A cultural perspective
An energised planner
A planner who has lost their mojo...
Bringing together a broad range of perspectives, ideas, and concerns will enable an informed and interesting debate.
You may reluctantly join the conversation, but you'll walk away inspired.
