David has worked on long-term future and sustainability programs for close to 30 years, advising companies and governments on long-term trends and developing practical, implementation programs to address these. He is the Global leader of WSP's Future Ready innovation programme - a world class initiative setting WSP apart and placing our business at the heart of creating a resilient, future ready world. He also leads WSP's corporate sustainability practice - providing clear business advice grounded in engineering, business consultancy and science.

David is Board Director of Aldersgate Group - one of the UK's leading business groups driving action for a sustainable economy and Commissioner for IPPR's Environmental Justice Commission. He’s a regular media commentator on environmental issues and megatrends, with special focus on sustainability and technology future, in a variety of media including the BBC, Sky and national broadsheets.

David was bestowed Businessgreen.com’s 2018 Leader of the Year award for his leadership of Future Ready. He was named as one of ELEMCON's 100 global environmental leaders for 2019, and SocEnv's 2020 Environmental Professional of the Year.
