Dr Chris Cameron is a climate change expert with a unique background across central and local government, science, policy and strategy. Chris has represented NZ as a delegate to UN climate change negotiations and IPCC meetings. Most recently Chris was the Climate Change Champion at Nelson City Council. He has a PhD in climate science, and has had a long standing interest in climate adaptation - including in community engagement and broad-level planning responses.

Forget climate, prepare for change
In this presentation Chris explores some of the connections between land-use planning, strategic planning and managed retreat (i.e,. the three new acts proposed to replace the RMA), and what some critical elements of the RMA reform must be from the climate adaptation perspective.
