NZPI invites planners and allied professionals to join us in Nelson/Whakatū in March 2021, to draw on the wealth of experience and expertise we hold collectively as a profession in the face on unprecedented times.

We are preparing an inspiring line-up of prominent thought leaders for our 2021 Conference that will consider how planning can and will influence New Zealand’s strategic direction.

We will examine the diversity of voices and values represented in our communities, address opportunities and challenges both past and present, and discuss visions for 2021 and beyond within the context of planning and leadership in the time of Covid-19, climate change and other critical challenges.

Hosted this year in the city of Nelson, where you can join the conversation and enjoy exploring the beautiful centre of our country while you’re there. To officially open the conference, we will be welcomed to Whakatū, with a Pōwhiri at Whakatū Marae. To ensure our conference is accessible to all those associated with the NZ Planning profession, and planning at large, this year we are hosting a hybrid conference, meaning if you are unable to make it to conference in-person, you can attend from literally anywhere in the world that has an internet connection.

This is a conference not to be missed! Nau mai, haere mai ki Whatatū i te tau ihu ō te waka a Māui.
